Sewage Pumps (Municipal & Industrial Grade)

Municipal and Commercial Sewage Pump OEM. Not for Residential Use

What’s the Sewage Pump Problem?

Are flushable wipes, baby wipes and feminine products clogging your wastewater systems?

Yes, flushables are the biggest problem driving most operators to our website. Clog reduction is the main request leading maintenance engineers to install Eddy Pump sewage pumps. We only deal with municipal and industrial clients. Try

How EDDY Pumps move high solids and sewage?

Our patented pump technology outperforms all centrifugal, vortex and positive displacement pumps in a variety of the most difficult sewage pumping applications.   Our pump design allows for longer intervals between maintenance, which translates to increased output, more uptime and higher profits.

Traditional Sewage Pump Problems

Centrifugal pumps with a recessed impeller or any other configuration often have much difficulty pumping solids, non-organic flushables and grit. They have been the standard choices in the past. That is until now, you have found the EDDY Pump. The two main issues with old style pumps are clogging and the abrasiveness of grit.  Pumping large grit found in wastewater treatment facilities can often cause clogging for centrifugal pumps.

Compounding this problem has been the “Flushable” non-revolution that causes backups and clogs. Flushables don’t break down as fast as designed or not at all. Normally centrifugal pumps have a close tolerance between the impeller and the volute.  It is very costly to have a clog and creates a lot of downtime. Abrasives sometimes found in sewage widdle the rotor down. In order to pump grit that is abrasive, a centrifugal pump will incur heavy wear and tear on the impeller.  Based on the low and critical tolerance in a centrifugal pump, any wear will cause the pumps dynamics to be thrown off, reducing optimal efficiency. This, in turn, leads to an extreme loss in suction.  The centrifugal pump then must be taken out of operation, rebalanced or replaced, which is very costly to the wastewater treatment plant (tax payers). Wastewater plants often equip their grit pumps with comminutors and grinders in order to break up the material so that the centrifugal pumps can handle it.  Once again, adding another layer to the process adds cost and intensifies the degree of maintenance involved. If necessary, EDDY Pump has a

If necessary, EDDY Pump has a pre-cutter chopper that is designed for our pumps. We can discuss this based on your needs.

A Better Sewage Pump for your Wastewater System

EDDY Pump has a tested and multi-decade proven solution. The sewage systems of the US Navy have been using EDDY Pumps for many years. Read about the newest Ford Class using EDDY Pump HERE. Based on the EDDY Pump design which has a large and non-critical tolerance between the rotor and volute, it makes for the ideal sewage pump.  The EDDY Pump can pass an object without any issue that is 1-inch smaller than the intake of the pump. Example, a 4-inch EDDY Sewage Pump can handle a 3-inch solid without clogging or having any issues.

Example, a 4-inch EDDY Sewage Pump can handle a 3-inch solid without clogging or having a negative effect on the pump. Many pumps start clogging at half the diameter of solids.  Another advantage of this extreme tolerance is reduced wear and tear because fewer solids come in contact with the rotor.

Chopper Option

Optional. A chopper upgrade can be fitted for use in sewage pumping applications. Most other pump applications the EDDY Pump works without comminutors, macerator or grinders because the tolerance is large enough to pass all material without any issues. But for large scale municipal use, we recommend cutter to break down flushables and other non-organics.

Why use this? Eddy Pumps pass such large waste and non-organic material that clogs can happen downstream from our pump. For sewage applications, we recommend using a cutter to prevent clogs in your downstream applications. Call us to discuss.

Conclusion: Cost Reducing Sewage Pump

The Eddy Pump has been utilized by the US Navy for over 20 years on almost all classes of Navy ships for grit, waste transfer and sewage pumping.  The reason is that this pump design saves the Navy tens of millions of dollars every year in corrective action, overhaul, and downtime.
